With the year not even half done, 2008 is already the deadliest tornado year in the United States since 1998 and seems on track to break the U.S. record for the number of twisters in a year, according to the National Weather Service. Also, this year's storms seem to be unusually powerful. So far this year: at least 110 dead, 30 killer tornadoes and a preliminary count of 1,191 twisters, which, after duplicate sightings are removed, is likely to go down to around 800. The record for the most tornadoes in a year is 1,817 in 2004. In the past 10 years, the average number of tornadoes has been 1,254. And it's not just more storms. The strongest of those storms — those in the 136-to-200 mph range — have been more prevalent than normal, and lately they seem to be hitting populated areas more. At least 22 tornadoes this year have been in the top part of the new Enhanced Fujita scale, rating a 3 for "severe," or a 4 for "devastating" on the 1-to-5 scale.
Another earthquake, this time in Iceland measured 6.1. Aftershocks continue to shake parts of China.
Luke 21:11
And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.
Luke 21:25-28
25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
Earthquakes have been fluctuating in numbers in the last century, but we have seen increases in numbers in certain years, Jesus said as in birth pains so ALL the signs of His return increase in frequency and intensity just before His return. I have looked at the USGS records to confirm the information I have heard was correct, it shows phases in numbers and intensity of medium to large earthquakes in the 20th century. But in the 21st century it shows a large increase in the medium to large earthquakes from 2000 to 2008 worldwide.
Now most scoffers will say this is normal, earth has been doing this for years, and if you look back in history you will see numbers decreasing and increasing, this is just the nature of things. What they do not understand is, sure these things happened before, but not ALL these things happened before together and in such numbers. Meaning pieces are coming together, it is not just separate events, it is everything together that makes it prophetic. We need to look at the whole picture, God’s plan is coming together just as He foretold, the signs are right in front of us, some just choose not to see.
The Middle East expects a powerful earthquake that endangers not only dozen thousands of human lives, but also world famous shrines such as the Church of the Holly Sepulcher, the Al Aqsa Mosque and the Wailing Wall, the scientists warn. Minor shakes on the territory of Israel become more frequent and it gives another reason for anxiety.
Many places in Revelation it tells of Earthquakes in Israel which includes when Jesus comes back and steps on the Mount of Olives, Rev 6:12, Rev 8:5, Rev 11:13, Rev 11:19, Rev 16:18.
Amid a growing crackdown on religious freedom, Iranian police reportedly have been rounding up people they suspect have converted to Christianity. Earlier this year, Ahmadinejad proposed a law that would impose a death sentence for any Muslim who converts to another religion. Under current laws, those charged with converting can be prosecuted and face jail time for vague crimes like “blasphemy” and “insulting Islam.” Iran has confirmed reports of groups of Muslim convert believers doubling in size in the last six months.
Christians are being persecuted worldwide, but Jesus said this would happen.

“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Israel,
Political strife has been hitting Israel the last couple months, Prime Minister Olmert is under investigation, he is also losing the support of the people of Israel. He seems to be selling out his own country making concessions anywhere he can. Binyamin Netanyahu is looking at this and he said he will run again once Olmert is gone, which may be sooner then they realize. Netanyahu will take a much stronger stand for Israel then Olmert. Just remember God is in control, He has the plan even if we do not understand it at this time. Israel is the epicenter of the world, God gave Israel to the Jewish people and one day there will be peace, and that is when Jesus comes back and sets up His Millennial Kingdom! Zechariah 2:10-12, 10 “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the LORD. 11 “Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you. 12 And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His inheritance in the Holy Land, and will again choose Jerusalem.
Russia is strengthening ties with Libya, why is this important, because Libya is one of the countries that will be involved in the Gog Magog alliance. Russia is building ties with the countries prophesied 2500 years ago, things are lining up to God's plans, and very quickly.
Talking about Russia, President Putin just stepped aside to become Prime Minister of Russia, a position that he created while president. The Russian constitution does not allow him to run again so he took the Prime Minister job to stay in power. Can this be a beginning of a Czar of Russia. Why is this important, because Russia is very important to prophecy as it will be the leader of the attack on Israel. Gog and Magog, which is the battle of Ezekiel 38 and 39.
A couple of weeks ago California Judges overturned a ruling to ban same sex marriages, so now it is legal for same sex marriage in California. Jesus said to love one another, everyone, even sinners. This lifestyle is a sin, we must pray and help to turn these people away from their sins and accept Jesus.
Matthew 24:36-39 36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.”
I found this very good video that has Johnny Cash singing about the End Times. He made this in 1990 and we can see how our society, our world we live in is getting worse day by day, Jesus warned us about this time, we need to be ready for His coming, but we must also continue to spread gospel and fufill His purpose in our lives until our blessed hope comes down with a trumpet call to gather His Church. May 14th, 1948 Israel became a nation again just as the Prophet Isaiah said over 2700 years ago.
Just think over 60 years ago Israel did not exist, the Romans destroyed the Second Temple in 70AD and soon after that the Jews were scattered to all nations, but God promised them they would be back, so 60 years ago a miracle of huge proportions happened, something that defies all logic, Israel again became a nation!
Most of the world is against them, and why, because they are God's chosen people, and Satan does not like that and he is doing everything possible to destroy the Jewish people. "And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it." Zechariah 12:3
The Jewish people beat all the odds against them, all the genocide they went through, but God kept His promise!
Today the Jews are arriving back to Israel in record numbers; "For behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah,’ says the Lord. ‘And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.” Jeremiah 30:3, the country is flourishing in both business and agriculture. "The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; " Isaiah 35:1
The prophecies are coming to pass today as the prophets foretold thousands of years ago. All you have to do is look at the headlines today and see the Bible coming true right in front of your eyes.
We are living in an amazing time in history, Christ will be coming back for His bride soon, and I pray everyone is ready. Jesus said that this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened, He was talking about the rebirth of Israel and His second coming and we are that generation!
